Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To curtail the cost and period of construction work for underground continuous wall by a method in which the end of a preceding underground wall is cut at the same time a deep trench is excavated and a mortise is formed on one side of the underground wall. CONSTITUTION:A given width of deep trench is excavated in the ground by a mortise constructing machine 2 having a drum cutter 6 whose periphery is provided with spiral cutters 6a-6c. By projecting the cutters 6a-6c fixed to the periphery of the drum cutter 6 to the diametrical direction every fixed interval, a comb blade-shaped mortise is formed in the vertical coupler of the preceding underground wall.
