Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prepare a heat storing material which has less tendency to break in handling and high flexibility and is free from peeling configurational change even after repeated melting and solidification, by fluorinating the surface of a crystalline polyolefin resin. CONSTITUTION:A crystalline polyolefin resin having an m.p. which is lower than that of a fluoride of the resin, such as PE or PP, is molded into a shape with a large surface area such as a globe of 5-200mm in diameter, a pellet or tablet form of 5-30mm in diameter and 2-150mm in length or a cylindrical form of 5-30mm in diameter having a variable length. The resin having a various shape as described above is contacted with an inert gas, such as N2 or Ar, contg. fluorine in an amt. of 0.1-100wt% for a period of at least 1min, pref. 5min-25hr, thereby attaining uniform and complete fluorination of the surface of the resin. Thus, a fluorinated layer having a thickness of 0.5-100mum is formed.
