Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To increase the sealing performance of a thin battery by heating a positive terminal plate and a negative terminal plate at 100-200 deg.C, arranging an insulating heat-sealable resin between the peripheries of the positive and negative terminal plates, and heat-bonding to seal a battery. CONSTITUTION:A terminal plate 1 is heated on a heater at 120 deg.C for 20 seconds. A heat sealable resin 2 is pressed against the periphery of the terminal plate 1 at 200 deg.C for 30 seconds under a pressure of 5 kg/cm to bond them. Cooling gas 3 comprising nitrogen gas is blown to the terminal plate 1 bonded with the resin 2 to cool them. A power generating element comprising a lithium negative electrode 4, a separator 5, and a manganese dioxide positive electrode 6 is placed between the terminal plates 1 and 1' and the resins 2 and 2' are faced. The resins 2 and 2' are heated and pressed at 200 deg.C for 30 seconds under a pressure of 5 kg/cm to seal a battery.
