HEAD TOUCH ADJUSTING METHOD FOR ROTARY MAGNETIC HEAD DEVICE

PURPOSE:To shorten the adjusting time of head touch and to sharpen a head gap part, by impressing a driving voltage to generate polarity in the same direction over plural frame periods first, and impressing the polarity opposite to the previous one over the plural frame periods at the next stage. CONSTITUTION:When the touch adjustment of a rotary magnetic head (DT head) 17 is performed by a wrapping tape 18, an edge on one side of the DT head 17 is ground by impressing a voltage whose driving voltage to be supplied to the bimorphs 16A and 16B of the DT head 17 has one direction in initial plural frames. In the next plural frame periods, the voltage having opposite to the above polarity is impressed, and the edge on the other side of the DT head 17 is ground. In such a way, it is possible to perform the adjustment of the head touch in a short time, and also, to form the tip of the DT head in a balanced sharp shape against in width direction.
