OPTICAL COUPLER

PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an optical coupler by joining an optical fiber which guides light emitted by a photoluminescence agent with a light emission part consisting of a transparent body containing the photoluminescence agent. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 2 consisting of a core 21 and a clad 22 is connected to the fiber type light emission part 1. For example, a transparent resin solution which contains the photoluminescence agent is applied to the end surface of the optical fiber 2 and dried to perform the joining and the formation of the light emission part 1 at the same time. Consequently, light from a light source can be guided in the optical fiber 2 in an optional direction. Thus, the light signal can be inputted to the optical fiber 2 regardless of the place of the light source, so the operability is excellent.
