IGNITING DEVICE FOR USE IN GAS APPLIANCE

PURPOSE:To positively conduct the ignition of a pilot burner by providing a differential holding mechanism turning on a switch after pressing and opening a solenoid valve and holding the switch on even at an operating shaft restrained position. CONSTITUTION:When an operating shaft 6 is pressed, a solenoid valve 5 is opened, a pilot gas valve 8 is opened by a pilot cam 7, and a main gas passage 10 is closed so as to supply a gas to a pilot burner. Thereafter, a main cam 17 is pushed down by a second snap ring 16, and an actuator 12 is separated off from the sliding surface of a channel-shaped top part 18 and rides on an engaging surface and moves in the right hand direction to turn on a microswitch 11. After completely opening the solenoid valve 5, an igniter discharge is started. Accordingly, it is possible to positively carry out the ignition of the pilot burner without producing an erroneous recognition at the time of ignition.
