Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive track misalignment detecting device having excellent reliability by executing a servo-burst processing by using the recording pattern of a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:By one rotation signal detecting part 16, one rotation signal pattern (DC part) in a magnetic disk 5 is detected and one rotation signal DC is generated, and based on a detection time point of the one rotation signal DC by a timing generating part 23, a period for inhibiting the write of information to the DC part and track position servo-patterns (a), (b) is set by ON and OFF of a servo-burst SB signal. Subsequently, in this period, the track position servo-patterns (a), (b) are read by a servo-pattern reading circuit, and also, an index signal INDEX is sent out. In such a way, a spindle index sensor is not required, the device becomes inexpensive, and also, a fault caused by a temperature drift, etc., of the spindle index sensor is not generated, and the reliability is improved.
