FORMULATION OF CATECHOLAMINES FOR EXTERNAL USE

PURPOSE:To obtain a formulation for external use, containing catecholamines, a medium-chain fatty acid glyceride and surfactant in a buffer solution containing a stabilizer, having excellent skin permeability, readily regulating dose as well as excellent in usefulness and safety. CONSTITUTION:A formulation for external use obtained by blending 0.1-50.0wt% catecholamines, 1.0-30.0wt% medium-chain fatty acid glyceride and 0.05-1.0wt% surfactant, e.g. sorbitan ester of a fatty acid, in a buffer solution, containing a stabilizer, e.g. sodium hydrogensulfite or cysteine hydrochloride, and adjusted to pH3.5-6.5. Adrenaline isoproterenol, etc., are used as the catecholamines and monoglyceride, diglyceride or a 6-18C fatty acid, etc., are used as the medium-chain fatty acid glyceride. The formulation for external use is useful for treating bronchial asthma, etc., and sustained administration can be carried out.
