Zusammenfassung:Cross-flow heat exchanger for heat transfer by means of hollow filaments whose end areas in each case run into a casting compound block connected in a fluid-tight manner to a housing jacket, in which the connection pieces for the supply and removal of the fluid circulating around the hollow filaments are arranged in a plane running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the heat exchanger in such a way that their longitudinal axes form with one another an angle deviating by 180 DEG , and preferably extend parallel to one another. The free length of the hollow filaments preferably amounts to 10 to 40 mm, so that the heat exchanger has the form of a disc. If the housing jacket is designed in such a way that it can be produced by injection moulding, the hollow filaments consist of a biocompatible material and/or the heat exchanger is connected in series with a blood oxygenator or another device for treatment of blood.
