PURPOSE:To generate a convection of ink to stabilize a cleaning of holes of a film and an ink filling therein, by providing fins on a roller rotating in an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:A film 2 is fed into an ink 7 in an ink tank 6 by rotation of a capstan 3 driving by a motor unit 5, thus a convection is generated in the ink 7 by fins 8b as the roller 8 rotates. The convection drains out a dust and ink residue etc. adhered in holes in a film before the film passes through the ink 7, and pushes out an ink and air which have been retained in the holes, whereby the holes are filled with a new ink. The ink is carried to a thermal head 1 by the film 2, and then flown due to the bubble pressure generated in the holes by the selective heating of the thermal head 1 to conduct printing on a recording paper disposed at the opposed portion to the film 2.
