PRODUCTION OF ULTRAFINE METALLIC POWDER

PURPOSE:To accelerate the diffusion of finely grained metallic particles and to easily produce ultrafine metallic powder having irregular shapes by injecting a high-pressure liquid of an adequate pressure to the falling flow of a molten metal then injecting a middle-pressure liquid of an adequate pressure thereto. CONSTITUTION:The high-pressure liquid Lh of 500-5,000kg/cm G is injected from a pair of the 1st stage nozzles 2, 2 toward one point P of the molten metal M falling down from a pouring nozzle (not shown) to form the finer grains of the molten metal M. The middle-pressure liquid Lm below 500kg/cm is further injected from a pair of the 2nd stage nozzles 3 toward the part Q right under the above-mentioned injection point P to accelerate the diffusion of the finely grained metallic particles and to efficiently cool the same while preventing the reflocculation. The extremely fine metallic powder sized about 10-15mumphi is thus obtd.
