MANUFACTURE OF OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To save processes for forming a layer by using a material having a high optical reflectance and a low optical reflectance so as to form a contrast pattern. CONSTITUTION:A photoresist layer 5 is formed on a metallic layer 3 having a high reflectance on a base 1, required digitized information is converted into dot pattern, etc., on an original mask 6, exposed and developed to form a resist pattern. Then the surface of the layer 3 exposed on the base 1 formed with such resist pattern is colored by the dyeing black method using water solution including metallic ions to form the dyeing black part 7 having an optically low reflectance. Thus, the parts having the high reflectance and the low reflectance are formed in this way to record the digital information. According to the manufacture, without twice layer forming for the materials having each reflectance, the high contrast is obtained with a simple method.
