METHOD FOR CONTROLLING EXHAUST GAS FROM CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To keep the internal pressure of a converter constant and to obtain a low N2 steel by blowing converter gas, CO2, CO, Ar or other gas into the converter so as to keep the flow rate of exhaust gas constant. CONSTITUTION:In the last stage of refining by blowing in a converter, the amount of exhaust gas generated varies. At this times, a reducing gas such as converter gas (LDG) or CO, or an inert gas such as CO2 or Ar is blown into the converter so as to keep the flow rate of exhaust gas from the converter constant. As a result, the internal pressure of the converter is kept constant without considerably regulating an exhaust gas damper in an exhaust gas duct. The combustion of recovered exhaust gas with air sucked can be prevented, so the calorie of the recovered exhaust gas can be increased.
