Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A 6-(3, 5-dichlorophenyl) perhydroimidazo [5, 1-b] thiazole derivative I(R is 2-4C alkyl; X is O or S; n is 0,1 or 2). EXAMPLE:6-(3, 5-Dichlorophenyl) perhydroimidazo [5, 1-b] thiazole-5, 7-dione. USE:A fungicide for agriculture and horticulture. It is effective for gray mold of vegetables, rice blast disease, etc. It is almost free from phytotoxicity for plants and has low toxicity for men and beasts. PROCESS:Thiazolidine-2-carboxylic acid or its lower alkyl ester is reacted with 3, 5-dichlorophenyliso (thio) cyanate to give the compound II. The compound II is subjected to the condensation-cyclization e.g. by heating it in the presence of an acid or by heating it in acetic anhydride in the presence of sodium acetate, to give the compound Ia. The compound Ib is prepared by further the oxidation of the compound Ia.
