FAULT INFORMATION ACQUIRING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To acquire fault information sufficient for fault analysis even if an I/O device started by IPL generates a fault intermittently during the execution of the IPL by forming a command for transferring the I/O fault information from an I/O channel in an area to be exclusively used for hardware. CONSTITUTION:An I/O channel command for transferring fault information obtained at the generation of the fault in an I/O device started by IPL during the execution of the IPL to a main storage device 103 having an area (an exclusive area for hardware) which can not be accessed from a normal program. Consequently, many fault information sufficient for fault analysis can be inquired and the fault information is continuously inquired even after the IPL has been succeeded (system rising success) by the retry of the IPL, so that it becomes easy to access the exclusive area for the hardware and to inspect and analyze the cause of the fault.
