FITTING PLATE FOR AE SENSOR

PURPOSE:To detect the abnormality of a cutting tool precisely by propagating an acoustic emission (AE) wave generated in case of abnormality occurrence from the cutting tool itself to a plate member through liquid or a liquid body. CONSTITUTION:A bush 11 penetrating the shaft part of a drill which is fitted freely attachably and detachably to a machine tool and driven to rotate is provided to the center part of the plate member 10 capable of propagating an AE wave. The internal diameter of the bush 11 is larger than the external diameter of the drill and the liquid or liquid body such as an oil film and grease can stay between the inner peripheral surface of the bush 11 and the outer peripheral surface of the drill while the shaft of the drill is run through the bush. Further, rod insertion holes 13 for fitting the plate member 10 to the machine tool are provided on the right and left sides of the bush 11. An AE sensor 9 is only mounted on an installation part 14 to attract a magnet case 15 to the member 10. Consequently, the AE wave propagated almost linearly from the drill 5 is detected, so there is neither noises nor attenuation originating a bearing and precise high-S/N detection is possible.
