CONTACT TYPE IMAGE SENSOR

PURPOSE:To avoid breakage of a wiring and damage of an original caused by the contact with a reading electrode such as a film lead by forming a light transmitting insulating substrate into a semi-circular or tapered shape. CONSTITUTION:A light shielding layer 3 which has a lighting window 2 is formed on a light transmitting insulating substrated formed into a semi-circular or tapered shape along an auxiliary scanning direction and a light transmitting insulating layer 4 is formed on the light shielding layer 3. After forming a pair of facing electrodes, which consist of a common electrode 6, provided for each certain number of units, and an individual electrode 7, corresponding to each optoelectric transducer 5, the respective individual electrodes 7 of the respective optoelectric transducers 5 corresponding to the same order status in the respective common electrodes 6 are connected in matrix by film leads 8 to form reading electrodes. Further, a transparent protecting layer 9 is formed on the optoelectric transducer 5. With this constitution, an original 11 delivered under a roller 10 is pot contacted with the film lead joint or the like so that breakage of a wiring and damage of the original caused by the contact can be avoided.
