OPTICAL COUPLER

PURPOSE:To improve the designing efficiency of an optical fiber receiver by providing a retainer fixed on a male connector at the prescribed linkage depth when a female connector is linked to the male one. CONSTITUTION:The titled coupler is provided with the female connector where the end of an optical fiber transmission line 5 is arranged and the male connector installed on the optical fiber receiver in order to lead a light beam transmitted from the end of the optical fiber transmission line to a photoelectric conversion element arranged on the optical fiber receiver 3. The female connector has the retainer 14 fixed on the male connector at the prescribed linkage depth when it is linked to the male connector. Even if the system is constructed with transmission circuit networks with different loop lengths and the different numbers of connection points, one optical fiber receiver suffices. Thus the designing efficiency of the optical fiber receiver can be improved at a moderate cost, and its fixing is easy.
