OUTPUT CODE CONTROL DEVICE FOR TERMINAL EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to change a code of a user application program by providing a mechanism for converting a processing character code of a host computer to a character code of a terminal equipment, based on a character sequence from the terminal equipment, in the host computer. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 1 for executing a processing by an EBCDIC code, and a terminal 2 for executing an input and an output by an ASCII code are connected, and a communication managing mechanism 3 for controlling the terminal 2, a terminal defining table 4 which is used in that case, and a terminal character control mechanism 5 are provided in the computer 1. Also, an output code type for determining whether the code is converted to the ASCII code with 'Kana' (Japanese syllabary) to the terminal 2, or converted to the ASCII code with a small letter of the alphabet is provided on the table 4, and the table can be changed by detecting an input character code from the terminal 2 by the mechanism 5.
