Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a high signal-to-noise ratio with a small quantity of light, by arranging a plurality of light-receiving element arrays in the direction Y, and transferring charges stored in light-receiving elements in each light-receiving element array under the irradiation of light scanning in the direction Y to the corresponding light-receiving elements in the next array in synchronization with the light scanning. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of light-receiving element arrays in each of which a multiplicity of light-receiving elements 1 are arranged in the direction X are juxtaposed in the direction Y, while corresponding light-receiving elements in respective arrays are electrically connected with a charge transfer path 2, respectively, to constitute a one-dimentional light-receiving sensor. The figures I-IV indicate the numbers of light-receiving element arrays. Each charge transfer path 2 transfers signal charges stored in each of the light-receiving elements 1 to the corresponding light-receiving element in the adjacent array. When the rate of transferring charges is synchronized with the rate of moving an image, signal charges are accumulated progressively and, consequently, a quadruple quantity of signal charges can be obtained from the array IV.
