Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To minimize the generation of heat to improve the reliability and to decrease the number of maintenance processes of a magnetic disk device, by using a gas supply means which supplies the inert gas having the heat conductivity with low viscosity in common to plural closed magnetic disk devices. CONSTITUTION:The closed magnetic disk devices DE1a-1d and 1e-1h are stored in the magnetic disk devices 9 and 10 respectively. While a supply cylinder 12 is stored in a magnetic disk controller 11. The cylinder 12 stores the inert gas, e.g., helium that has the satisfactory heat conductivity with low viscosity. The devices DE1a-1h are connected to the cylinder 12 via a common pipeline 13. The pressure gauges 14 and 15 indicate the helium pressure in the devices DE1a-1h and the cylinder 12 respectively. Thus the generation of heat is minimized in the devices DE1a-1h. This improves the reliability and also decreases the number of maintenance processes with magnetic disk devices.
