Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve the throughput by opening a channel pass route if the time between the end and start points of a record is larger than a prescribed level in case a certain storage is performing the data processing sequentially and for each track. CONSTITUTION:When the processing is through with the final record on a track of a disk device 106, a disk controller 103 calculates the time alpha between the end point of the relevant record and the start point of the record on the next track from the segment number on the track and by a microprogram. Then, the present processing is continued as it is if the time alpha is smaller than the reconnection time between a channel and the device 106. While a target is set if the time alpha is larger than the reconnection time. Then, a channel pass route is opened. Thus, the reconnection is requested when a head is set beside an index. Meanwhile a service operation is carried out by a request given from another disk device.
