CONTINUOUS PICKLING INSTALLATION FOR STRIP

PURPOSE:To easily adjust the time for immersing a strip into a pickling soln. as desired by providing dip rolls for immersing and supporting the strip in the pickling soln. between deflector rolls provided on the inlet and outlet sides of a pickling tank in such a manner that one of the dip rolls can move forward and backward with regard to the other. CONSTITUTION:The deflector rolls 2, 2 are provided on the inlet side and outlet side of the pickling tank 1 and the dip rolls 4A, 4B which immerse and hold the strip 5 traveling in an arrow direction into the pickling soln. are provided therebetween. The above-mentioned dip rolls are provided in such a manner that one 4A thereof can move forward and backward to and from the other 4B in one or plural tanks of the pickling tank 1 provided to the above-mentioned continuous pickling installation for the strip. The immersion length la-lc of the strip 5 into the pickling soln. is selected as desired according to the characteristics of the scale to be cleaned and removed on the strip 5. The strip 5 having the excellent surface quality is thus obtd. and the reaction of the pickling soln. and the base metal of the strip is prevented, by which the consumption of the pickling soln. is reduced.
