Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reutilize expensive and harmful I2 without flowing out the I2 to the outside of the system, by detoxifying an iodine-containing washing water after washing an iodine type germicidal ion exchange resin by a contact with a basic ion exchange resin and using the above-mentioned resin as a raw material for producing the above- mentioned germicidal resin. CONSTITUTION:Exchange groups in a basic anion exchange resin (hereinafter referred to as basic resin) which is a raw material are first converted into iodine ion type by contact with an aqueous solution of I2 and KI from an iodine dissolving tank 4 in a reactor 1, and the resultant iodine germicidal ion exchange resin (hereinafter referred to as germicidal resin) is preferably washed with a KI solution newly prepared in the iodine dissolving tank 4 and then desalted water from a feed pipe 12. The resultant iodine-containing washing water after the washing is then stored in the iodine dissolving tank 4. The above-mentioned washing water is then fed to a washing water treating column 7, brought into contact with a new basic and detoxified. Finally, the above-mentioned washing water is discharged from a waste water pipe 28, and the basic resin used for treating the washing water as a raw material for producing the germicidal resin together with a new basic resin are fed to the reactor 1.
