As a result, the hardening of the link chain so treated is sufficiently raised and also its corrosion resistance is greatly raised by its insertion into the fused solution. The preferred composition of the link chain material is an alloy of 0.1-0.5wt% C, 1wt% or less Si, 3wt% or less Mn, 0.1-1wt% Mo, and Fe.
