Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To count up at high speed the number of objects and the number of holes in an image by a simple processing, by recognizing it as a hole, when one run in the previous scanning line has been devided into two runs in the present scanning line and has become one run again. CONSTITUTION:With regard to an input signal from a camera 1, a background is binary-coded by a binary-coding circuit 2, and a local image of 2X2 is detected by shift registers 3, 4a and 4b. One picture element C on the present scanning line in this local image is inputted to a counting circuit 7a, and by counting a variation point of the binary, the number of runs in one picture is counted. The variation point is counted by deriving AND of the previous scanning line A and the present scanning line C by an AND circuit, and inputting it to a counting circuit 7b. On the other hand, when one run in the previous scanning line has been divided into two in the present scanning line and has become one again, it is recognized as a hole by a hole detecting circuit 6, it is counted by a counting circuit 7c, and the number of holes N2 is calculated. Also, by calculating the counting circuits 7a, 7b and 7c, the number of pieces of an object N1 is calculated.
