Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a thermoelectromotive force element adapted for an ignition safety device having large thermoelectromotive force and long life by employing a forming element added with cuprous bromide or cuprous iodide containing no isolated halogen at its essential part. CONSTITUTION:CuBr and CuI of higher than 99.5 of purity are heated to the vicinity of their melting points in a rare gas or N2 gas to thereby remove an isolated halogen. Then, it is pulverized, and molded using sole CuBr or a mixture with CuI to thereby form a thermoelectromotive force element body 1. Then, high and low temperatur side electrodes 3 and 4 of stainless steel are mounted at the body 1 through graphite thin layers 2, 2' so that potential barrier may not occur between them and the body 1 of p-type semiconductor. The base and emitter of a transistor 22 are connected to the element 21 thus obtained, and a light emitting diode 23, a variable resistor 25 and a battery 24 are provided between the emitter and the collector thereof. Thus, the device can be remarkably simplified.
