SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve remarkably the picture accuracy of a solid-state image pickup device by providing a means for shifting bits of a picture element signal data to the input side of a sensitivity correction operating section and a sensitivity correction function section to correct each picture element signal with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:Bit shifters 15a, 15b are added to an input section of a microprocessor 13 and a bit shifter 15c is added to the input side of a multiplier 16 to attain external bit shift to data. Through the constitution above, when input data is too small, the input data is increased uniformly by shifting up bits of the data (shift left) and when too large, the data given to the multiplier 16 and the processor 13 is kept always within a prescribed size by shifting down the data bit (shift right). Since the over-range of the correction data is prevented regardless of the quantity of the output data from a solid-state image pickup element 1, each picture element signal is corrected with high accuracy.
