Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a sulfonated 1,2-polybutadiene having high ion exchange capacity and ion exchange speed, by reacting a polybutadiene containing a specific amount of vinyl bond with a specific sulfonation agent. CONSTITUTION:A polybutadiene containing >=70% vinyl bond is dissolved in a solvent (preferably dichloroethane, etc.) at a concentration of 5-15wt%, and is made to react with one or more sulfonation agents selected from concen trated sulfuric acid, chlorosulfonic acid, sulfuric anhydride and fuming sulfuric acid preferably at -20-+150 deg.C. USE:The polymer is used as an ion exchange resin for the production of purified water, the softening of hard water, the treatment of waste water, etc.
