HORIZONTAL DEFLECTION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To improve a horizontal geometric distortion with respect to all horizontal frequencies with a simple circuit constitution by connecting two saturable reactors in series by reversing a polarity and connecting this serial circuit to a horizontal deflection coil in series. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of saturable reactors 6, 7 exists in that a value of an inductance changes by a current flowing through their coils and the change is different in accordance with the direction of the current. These saturable reactors 6, 7 are connected in series by reversing their polarities, and connected to a horizontal deflecting coil 4 and to a horizontal linear coil 5 in series, thereby a current flowing through the horizontal deflection coil 4 has a waveform as shown by broken lines in the figure and a geometric distortion can be corrected. The characteristic of the broken line is changed by the largeness of the flowing current, so that a correction is applied in a fixed rate to any deflection current value and an operation of changing over a capacity value when using the conventional horizontal linear correcting capacitor is not required and the circuit can be constituted inexpensively.
