SEAL DEVICE FOR MOTOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve durability as well as appearance quality by gluing a fabric cover to a welt fitted along a circumferential edge of an opening of a vehicle body, with the cover extending from a side part of a passenger compartment side of the welt via a seal to a side part of a side outside the vehicle body of the welt. CONSTITUTION:A fabric cover 80 is glued at its both ends 82 and 84 respectively to a tip portion of a side part 62 of a side outside a vehicle body of a welt 60 and a tip portion of a side part of a passenger compartment side of the welt 60 by means of glue 90. A portion of the fabric cover 80 extending from the side part 64 on the passenger compartment side to the side part 62 on the side outside the vehicle body is also glued by means of glue. The fabric cover 80 and a seal body 70 are not glued to each other but they are glued only to the welt 60. The cover 80 is arranged to be of a color matching an interior color or a vehicle body color to improve appearance of the interior or appearance when a door is opened. Moreover, since the cover 80 and the seal body 70 are not glued to each other, the fabric of the cover 80 does not break in spite of repeated opening and closing of the door, resulting in an improved durability.
