PRODUCTION OF METALLIC STOCK FOR SURFACE TREATMENT

PURPOSE:To produce a metallic stock for surface treatment which is smooth in surface and with which an excellent surface film is obtd. by subjecting said stock to lubricated rolling at a specified rolling rate in a final rolling stage. CONSTITUTION:The metallic stock for surface treatment is subjected to the lubricated rolling at >=150m/min rolling speed by using a rolling mill lubricant having >=10cSt (centi-stoke) in at least the final rolling stage. The metallic strip produced by the above-mentioned method forms a smooth and uniform surface after the plating and provides the surface characteristic including good solderability even when such strip is subjected to tin plating without copper primer coating after degreasing then to a reflow treatment.
