METHOD OF ATTACHING AND DETACHING ENCODER

PURPOSE:To obviate a special tool during detaching of an encoder or the like, by a method wherein an attaching screw threadedly engaged with a first tapped hole in the axial direction of a coupling member is advanced, and after abutting on a shaft end the attaching screw is further rotated in the advancing direction and the coupling member is moved rearward. CONSTITUTION:An encoder 2 is supported to the projection 61 of a bracket 60 to support a bearing 6 of a shaft 1 through an encoder attaching screw 15 by a leaf spring 11 fixed using a leaf spring attaching screw 14. A coupling member 21 with inner hole thereof fitted to a taper 1a of the shaft 1 is installed, and is pressed against the shaft 1 and assembled. In this constitution, when the encoder 2 is detached, the encoder tightening screw 3 is rotated and released from the threaded engagement with the end of the shaft 1, and further a detaching screw is rotated and inserted. If the detaching screw abuts on the end of the shaft 1 and further the rotation is continued, the coupling member 21 of the encoder 2 is released from the taper 1a of the shaft 1, thereby the encoder 2 is moved to the left and detached from the shaft 1.
