COMMUTATOR

PURPOSE:To provent lead wires from being shorted even if bare sections are generated on the lead wire sections, by providing a main unit, with insulating projections positioned between the adjacent respective connecting piece sections with spaces therebetween. CONSTITUTION:On a section projected from the main unit 1 of a core bar 4, a collar 5 made of synthetic resin for insulating substance is elastically fitted and is applied to the end surface on the side positioned with the connecting pieces 3 of the main unit 1. Between the respective connecting pieces 3 on the outer periphery of the collar 5, insulating projections 6 positioned with spaces S therebetween are formed. When small loops 10a on the lead wires 10 of windings are wound on the connecting pieces 3 by using the spaces S between the pieces 3 and the projections 6, then the adjacent small loops 10a are prevented by the projections 6 from coming in contact with each other. As a result, even if the small loop 10a sections are made bare due to covering damage, they will not electrically connected to each other.
