BUMPER ATTACHING JIG

PURPOSE:To make it possible to precisely attach a bumper to a vehicle body, by enabling curved sections at both ends of the bumper to be enlarged by being absorbed by means of suckers on arms even though the bumper is positionally shifted relative to a jig. CONSTITUTION:A bumper (a) is supported on a receiver 2 in a jig body 1, and then both arms 5 is closed by means of rods 5b, 5c in association with the operation of a cylinder. Thereafter, vacuum is effected in suckers 3, 6 to absorb curved section at the front surface and both ends of the bumper (a). At this time the bumper (a) is corrected about its positional shift in association with the close operation of the arms 5. Then, both arms 5 are opened by means of a cylinder through rods 5b, 5c to enlarge both curved end sections (c), and the jig body 1 is advanced toward the vehicle body in association with the operation of a robot while the above-mentioned condition being held, to attach the bumper (a) to the vehicle body.
