THERMAL RELAXING DEVICE FOR ORIENTED FILM

PURPOSE:To provide an oriented film with a longitudinal uniform thermal contraction, by a method wherein the driving speed of a tenter and the speed of a take-up device, providing a reduction thereafter, are brnached from a same driving source. CONSTITUTION:An oriented film 12 in a tenter 11 runs at a given speed while being clipped by tenter clips 13, 13' at both ends thercof. The tenter clips 13, 13' are driven by a driving motor 15 through speed reducers 14, 14' and sprockets 16, 16'. Speed reduction for relaxing the orientation film 12, comming out of the tenter 11, is obtained by the regulation of the rotary speed of a take-up roll 19 for reducing the speed. The take-up roll 10 is driven by the driving motor 15 through a speed reducer 18 for turning direction, which regulates the speed of the speed reducer 14 so as to be equal to the speed of the tenter clips 13, 13', and another speed reducer 17 for reducing the speed so as to be reduced slightly slower than a film speed in the tenter 11. On the other hand, the take-up roll 19 for reducing speed is preferably provided with a nip roll 21 in order to synchronize the running speed of the film with the peripheral speed of the take-up roll 19 surely.
