EXHAUST GAS MEASURING INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To easily measure the exhaust gas of an automobile by fitting a probe for measurement to a slide base which moves in the height and width directions and inserting the probe for measurement into an exhaust pipe automatically. CONSTITUTION:A fitting table 20 is provided to a pit 12 and an exhaust gap measuring instrument 18 is fitted thereto. Rails are laid on the fitting table 20 in the width direction of the automobile and the device 18 is moved. Further, a moving table is fitted under the device 18 and moved vertically by a ball screw 46, etc. A slide table 50 is provided on the moving table 38, a piston 56 is provided thereupon, and the probe 64 at its top is moved back in the direction of the exhaust pipe 88. Further, an exhaust pipe gripping hand 66 is provided to one end of the slide table 50. Then, the measuring instrument 18 is moved in three directions to grip the exhaust pipe 88 with the gripping hand 66, and the probe 64 is inserted to measure the exhaust gas. Thus, the probe is securely inserted into the exhaust pipe.
