Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To effectively reform a hydrocarbon with steam through effective reuse of high-temp. heat of a reformed gas without use of any waste heat boiler, by effecting the steam reforming in a tubular space portion of a particular reaction tube and effecting CO conversion in an inner tube portion. CONSTITUTION:A steam reforming catalyst layer A is formed in a space portion 4 between an inner tube 1 and an outer tube 2 which cooperate with each other to form a double-tube structure and communicate with each other through a partitioning plate 3 which has a number of fine pores for transmission and which is provided at the opening portion located at the bottom of the inner tube 1, while a CO conversion catalyst layer B is formed in an inner space 5 of the inner tube 1, thereby forming a reaction tube 20. For example, three reaction tubes are provided within a heating oven of a steam reforming device. A raw material comprising a mixed gas comprised of a hydrocarbon and steam and having a temp. of 300-400 deg.C is fed through a conduit 21. The mixed gas comes down from the direction of an arrow 10 of each reaction tube through the catalyst layer A. At this time, the mixed gas is heat- exchanged with the heat of gas rising through the catalyst layer B and heat from the outer surface 2, thereby causing the mixed gas to be heated at about 800 deg.C. This is turn causes the mixed gas to be converted into a gas contg. H2, CO and CO2. The gas rises through the catalyst layer B to bring about a CO conversion reaction. The gas thus formed is led to the direction of an arrow 11 and discharged from a discharging port 23 through a gas collecting tube 22, to transfer it to the next step. |
