FIBER REINFORCED RESIN WHEEL

PURPOSE:To detect defects in strength such as a crack or the like easily with a simple construction without using an electric device, by providing a cutout partially extending to a wall thickness direction of a wall. CONSTITUTION:An FRP wheel 1 has a tire 2 mounted on the outer circumference of its rim portion 1a and a tire space 3 is formed by the outer circumferential surface 1b of the rim portion 1a and the inner surface 2a of the tire 2. In this case, a cutout 4 is formed at a central portion of the rim portion 1a in its width direction, the central portion being positioned on the side of the tire space 3 of the wall of the rim portion 1a, and the cutout 4 extending partially in such a manner that it does not pass through the wall of the rim portion 1a in its wall thickness direction. The cutout 4 is formed of a cutout portion 4a largely cut in a rectangular shape in its cross-section and a small cutout portion 4b provided at the bottom the cutout portion 4a as a starting point of cracking. When a crack is going to be caused at a part of the wheel 1, the crack is made to be caused from the cutout 4.
