PURPOSE:To use effctively the image area of an image memory by driving out the image information of a memory area whose use frequency is small, to an external storage, and using its memory area as the storage area of other image information. CONSTITUTION:The virtual storage area of a storage control device 3 is divided into an image area and a program area. When the virtual address 31 of a virtual storage area indicates the image area, a comparator 36 compares a register 35 for designating the start segment of the image area with the segment number of the virtual address 31, and operates a selector 34 so that the contents of an image use segment table origin register 33 are selecetd. In this way, the access of a CPU to an image memory is executed by referring to a part for managing the image area of a segment table 47 and a page table 38, and calculating an address in an actual storage by an adder 39.
