Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide excellent fatigue strength and pitting resistance, by forming the internal part of a malleable graphite cast iron structure in which graphite is precipitated in a matrix composed principally of bainite phase and also by forming the surface layer of a structure composed mainly of bainite phase free from graphite and graphite escape holes. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing high-strength malleable cast iron by applying austempering treatment combining austenitizing treatment with isothermal transformation treatment to white-iron castings, austenitizing treatment is carried out in a decarburizing atmosphere. In this way, the high-strength malleable graphite cast iron whose internal part has a malleable graphite cast iron structure in which graphite is precipitated in the matrix composed mainly of bainite phase and whose surface layer has a structure composed principally of bainite phase free from graphite and graphite escape holes can be obtained.
