FREEZE-PROOFING DEVICE FOR AIR CONDITIONER OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To prevent the freeze of an evaporator by generating a command of raising a compressor stopping temp. when there is no rise in temp. even after the lapse of a certain period of time during which the surface temp. of a fin is stabilized near a freezing temp. CONSTITUTION:When a freeze detecting sensor 19 provided on a evaporator 7 has detected a freezing temp. while a compressor 12 is operated, a timer circuit 24 in a timer control unit 23 is operated. And, when the detected signal is kept inputted from the sensor 19 even after a set time has elapsed, a command for raising a compressor stopping set temp. is outputted from the unit 23 to a control unit 20. Thereby, the compressor stopping set temp. of a temp. sensor 18 is raised by a temp. setting device 22. When the outlet temp. of the evaporator 7 which is detected by the temp. sensor 18 has reached the compressor stopping set temp., a magnetic clutch 17 is disconnected to stop the compressor 12.
