Zusammenfassung:	The suction drum with friction rings is used for the separation of stacked sheets, preferably in polygraphic machines. The object of the invention is to increase the operating productivity by ensuring the reliability of separation, even at relatively high operating rate. For this purpose, friction rings (7) are drawn onto the suction drum (1), the frictional value of which friction rings (7) ensures a high track stability during sheet conveying. The suction drum is provided with grooves (8) which run axially parallel and by means of which the suction area, and thus the reliability of guidance of the sheet (2), is increased. The invention promotes the use of low-maintenance side-channel compressors.
