METHOD OF CUTTING AND WINDING SHEET OR FILM MEMBER

PURPOSE:To prevent bonding of sheet member cut in an overlapped state, by providing a cutter capable of approaching to or retracting from a winding shaft. CONSTITUTION:A cutting unit 1 is disposed in such a manner that it has a blade edge directed to a winding unit 7 and capable of approaching to or retracting from the winding unit 7. In particular, the cutting unit 1 retracts automatically in accordance with the increase in thickness of a sheet member wound around the core of the winding unit 7. A wide adhesive sheet A is continuously supplied from an adhesive agent application unit or from a coil wound once and wound around the core of the winding unit 7 through a touch roller 5. The position where the cutter of the cutting unit 1 contacts the wound sheet is preferably located at the side substantially opposite to the position where the touch roller 5 contacts the wound sheet. Therefore, the cutter of the cutting unit 1 contacts the surface of the wound sheet and cuts it to a prescribed width while the cutter retracts in accordance with the wound width automatically.
