Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation of air-fuel ratio characteristics due to a secular change, by a method wherein, when feedback control is made on an air-fuel ratio by means of intake secondary air, a correction value is calculated in order to correct an error in a reference value when an operating state under which a fluctuation in an air-fuel ratio due to the motion of a carburetter is low. CONSTITUTION:Detecting values from an intake air absolute pressure sensor 10, a crank angle sensor 11, a cooling water temperature 12, an oxygen concentration sensor 14, an atmospheric pressure sensor 17, etc. are inputted to a control circuit 20. Feedback control is effected according to an operating state through the working of an electromagnetic valve 9 located in an intake secondary air feed passage 8 bypassing a carburetter 3 to regulate an air-fuel ratio to a desired value. Only when a car does not run at highland, during no high load running state in that an intake absolute pressure exceeds a given value, when a cooling water temperature exceeds a given value, or when the opening of an electromagnetic valve 9 is below a given value, the control circuit 20 stops computation made to correct the reference value according to which feedback control is made on an air-fuel ratio.
