POWER-ASSISTED TYPE PARKING BRAKE EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To enable a parking brake to be applied or released simply by a switch operation, and improve its operability and at the same time, smoothen its movement by constituting the equipment so that a parking brake arm is enabled to swing by a motor by means of a worm gearing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:On one edge of a swinging plate 24 for an auxiliary arm 46 is provided an arc-shaped ratchet gear 23, and a brake cable 25 is connected to the swinging plate 24. The operating pressure between the ratchet gear 23 and a worm gear 27 can be released by means of a lock plate 33. Subsequently, to the worm gear 27 is connected a reversible motor 41 by means of a universal joint 28. By constituting as mentioned above, a parking brake can be applied or released by way of causing the motor 41 to make either a normal rotation or a reverse rotation by a simple switch operation. And accordingly, the operability of a brake can be improved, and the movement of the brake can also be smoothened.
