METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PICTURE READING

PURPOSE:To attain the reading of a single leaf of original by sticking the ssingle leaf of original on the reading surface of a continuous beltshaped form, and running the continuous belt-shaped form at the prescribed speed to move the signal leaf of original at a prescribed speed in a subscan direction against an image reading means. CONSTITUTION:When the single leaf of original is read, it is preferable that the whole surface of an original is stuck on a continuous belt-shaped form 2, or that the tip part of the original is stuck. In the above state, when a driving roller 11 is driven, and the continuous belt-shaped form 2 is fed, the original is also moved on an original platen 3, and passes through the lower end of a foreign matter invasion preventing piece 1A, and passes the reading position of an image reading means 4 in the subscan direction, then reading the original, and it is converted to a picture signal, and is transmitted. Also, since a recessed part 3A is provided at the part of the original platen 3 facing oppositely with the foreign matter invasion preventing piece 1A, the part of the continuous belt-shaped form on which the original 10 is stuck, can pass the part smoothly when it arrives at the position, and also, since the continuous belt- shaped form 2 is fed keeping contact with the foreign matter invasion preventing piece 1A, or separating slightly from it, dust or another foreign matter on the continu ous belt-shaped form 2 can be prevented from entering to the inside.
