COMMUNICATION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR GATE WAY

PURPOSE:To improve the performance of managing the communication types of application programs and those of ports and assigning ports in a gateway based on them. CONSTITUTION:When terminal communication start type application programs 51-53 and a non-terminal communication start type application program 54 exist in a computer, a system port 60 for communication with programs 51-53 and user ports 61-66 for communication with the program 54 are provided in a gateway 3, and these ports are classified into acceptance type ports 61-63 and non-acceptance type ports 64-66. Resources 120-126 such as buffers are provided in the gateway 3 corresponding to ports 60-66, and the port 60 is assigned and logic communication circuits 111-113 are set when programs 51-53 are designated to start the communication by terminals 101-103. Thus, resources which are not assigned are saved.
