METHOD FOR COOLING COKE POWDER OF DRY COKE QUENCHING INSTALLATION

PURPOSE:To cool coke powder simply without causing troubles of following processes, by directly feeding high-temperature coke powder recovered by a dry coke quenching installation to a decanter charged with water without bringing the coke powder into contact with atmosphere outside of the system. CONSTITUTION:A decanter 8 charged with cooling water is set below a dust catcher 2, high-temperature coke powder is fed through a heat-resistant duct 7 into the cooling water of the decanter 8 without bringing the coke powder into contact with atmosphere outside of the system and directly cooled by the cooling water stored in the decanter. The coke powder 13 cooled in the decanter 8 is scraped and raised by a flight conveyor 9 and stored in a hopper 10. Steam generated by cooling of the high-temperature coke powder is collected at the top of the decanter and raised through a steam removal pipe 12 to cool the duct 7. Then the steam is released to the atmosphere.
