Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To exactly control the charging distribution of raw materials and to stabilize the operation of a blast furnace by preliminarily detecting the hopper discharge characteristic of the raw materials and controlling the opening degree of a flow rate regulating gate in accordance with the result thereof. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 15 for measuring the raw material discharge time is provided to a surge hopper 5 for feeding the raw materials to a bell-less type charger and the discharge time for the specified amt. of the raw materials is measured by a clock device 1. The measured discharge time value is arithmetically processed by an opening/ closing control device 2, by which the opening degree of the flow rate regulating gate 4 is preliminarily determined. A driving signal is fed to a driving device for opening and closing the gate 4 in synchronization with the timing for charging the raw materials, by which the opening degree of the gate 4 is adjusted. A lower chute gate 13 is then opened to charge the raw materials from a swiveling chute 12 into the blast furnace. The charging of the raw materials is completed by closing the gate 13 after discharge of the entire amt. of the raw materials from a furnace top hopper 8. The raw material charging distribution is exactly controlled by such method, by which the stable operation is executed.
